Olympic Torch reaches U.S. – Canada border

Thousands of onlookers, including our own Marilyn Delaney, welcomed the Olympic torch during ceremonies marking its only U.S. appearance before crossing the border into Canada on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.

U.S. skier and former Olympic gold and silver medal winner Phil Mahre of Yakima carried the torch and lit the cauldron at the Peach Arch Park in Blaine, WA where dignitaries and community members gathered on a chilly morning under clear skies.  The 2010 Winter Olympic Games start Friday, February 12th in Vancouver, B.C. , Canada.

Marilyn snapped these pictures for those of us who couldn’t be there.  Thanks Marilyn!
