Deb Staeb

CPA

As the business manager of two radio stations on the Oregon coast in the 1980’s, Deb understood the value of a strong background in accounting, taxation and financial planning.  This sparked the journey to obtaining her CPA license and ultimately working for various accounting firms in the Pacific Northwest  during the last 22 years.

Deb joined the Metcalf Hodges team in 2007 and specializes in U.S. income taxation compliance and planning for individuals and small businesses.  Her expertise includes U.S. taxation of international transactions involving Canadians.    Deb enjoys the technical aspects of her work as well and believes  Metcalf Hodges offers the highest level of training, technology and research tools that allow her to deliver superior client service.

Volunteering has always been important to Deb.  She has served on the boards of the Clatsop County American Red Cross in Astoria, Oregon and Mt. Baker American Red Cross (formerly Whatcom County chapter).   Deb received a leadership award for her service as treasurer for the Whatcom County Red Cross chapter.  In addition, she was treasurer of Family Challenge Ministries, past-president of the Mt. View Elementary School PTO, and has previously served as an appointed parent representative on the Ferndale School District calendar committee.

After receiving her B.A. from Central Michigan University and working as a radio and TV news anchor/reporter, Deb made the trek west to pursue employment in a warmer climate in 1980 with her husband, Rick.  An empty-nester with two adult children, Deb enjoys spending time with Rick, and cat “Tinkerbell.”  Her leisure pursuits and interests include guitar, antiques, wine, gardening and family.
