If you want to be successful in your business, Julie is the person to have on your team! With 36 years of business advisory experience, her expertise in accounting, business management, financial, retirement and transition planning is an asset to our Firm and to you, our clients. Julie first joined the Metcalf Hodges team in 1975 as an honors graduate of the accounting program at Western Washington University. She spent several years auditing small business and not-for profit organizations and became a partner in the Firm in 1980. Over the years of working with small to medium size business enterprises, she began to focus on business advisory services. In 1990 she completed a two year full-time residency program at Willamette University, Atkinson Graduate School of Management earning an MBA, to enhance those advisory skills.
Julie knows the numbers, but more importantly, she listens and knows how to explain what the numbers mean in terms of choices, opportunities, and ability to meet personal goals and objectives. Among Julie’s strengths is her ability to focus on achieving results. She takes pride in helping clients achieve success, and can definitely help your company keep on task to accomplish your goals.
Metcalf Hodges' appreciation for our local business community is reflected in a strong commitment to give back. Julie shares that value and has served on many not-for-profit boards and committees in leadership positions. She currently is serving as a director on the Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood board and is treasurer of Whatcom County North Rotary Club. In past years, organizations benefiting from her contribution of time and leadership include: Whatcom Community Foundation, Whatcom Community College Foundation, Visiting Nurse Home Health Care, Visiting Nurse Personal Services, Whatcom Maritime Historical Society, KZAZ (NPR) public radio, Whatcom Hospice Foundation, Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association and Whatcom County Rotary Foundation. Julie is an active member and past president of Whatcom County North Rotary Club.
In her “outside the office” life, Julie shares fourteen grandchildren with her husband Bob Moles. The grandchildren provide many opportunities for ball games, recitals, horse shows and enjoying their various endeavors. Julie and Bob enjoy traveling, having visited many countries and especially treasure the bicycling tours in Holland, Austria, Italy, Vermont, the wine country of California as well as sailing trips to Greece and the British Virgin Islands. Living in the wonderful Pacific Northwest provides opportunity for boating, fishing and visits to the Moles family cabin on Waldron Island.
