Oksana Brown

CPA

Ten years ago, if anybody had told Oksana that she would live in the USA or work in accounting she would have laughed in response. However, life made its leaps and turns that way. The road to the beautiful world of numbers went through the medical fields of Lebedin Medical College and Lebedin Regional Hospital. Oksana had followed this trail for fifteen years until she found her true vocation for accounting. She earned her Masters Degree in Accounting and Audit from Sumy National Agrarian University, Ukraine. She completed her US experience and examination requirements to become a certified public accountant (CPA) in June 2009!

In April 2004, Oksana’s life journey brought her to the United States. To get herself accustomed to the American accounting system, Oksana went to Bellingham Technical College and graduated from it with Associate Degree in Applied Science. From there she came to Metcalf Hodges and the rest, as they say, is history.

Outside of the orderly (or so we would like to hope) world of debits and credits, Oksana unleashes her creativity and lets her imaginative side flourish in crafts. She creates marvelously splendid things knitting, spinning, weaving, beading, etc. Her lovely, talented husband Ben has made her a spinning wheel and many other different helpful tools.

Oksana’s daughter Luba graduated from high school in 2006 and is a student of Sumy State University, Ukraine.
