The Metcalf Hodges team is preparing for another exciting Memorial Day weekend by participating in “America’s Adventure Race” – Ski to Sea. 2015 will be Metcalf’s third year participating in the outdoor adventure race recruiting a combination of employees, spouses, and friends to race the ~100 mile course from Mt. Baker to Bellingham Bay.

Past Metcalf Hodges Ski to Sea racers include Jennifer Collins, Cary Thomas, Deb Canon, Harte Bressler, Ron Bauleke, Kurt Gurtunca, and Damien Wright.
Whatcom county had an unusually warm winter this year that resulted in two new race legs to replace the two ski legs. The traditional race included a XC ski, downhill ski, run, road bike, canoe, XC bike, and sea kayak. The race this year replaced the ski legs with an alpine run through the Mt. Baker Ski area and mountain bike through the Chuckanut trails.
The Ski to Sea race is truly a community event bringing together athletes and weekend warriors from around the world with the help of more than 1,000 volunteers . For more information on the race and the best viewing locations, visit www.skitosea.com.
